The jazz musician, born Stanley Gayetsky, better known as Stan Getz, had a warm and smooth sound, with his tenor saxophone sounding much like singing – his singing. In 1967, the year The Beatles released A Hard Day's Night, Stan Getz and his musical partner Joao Gilberto the immortal Brazilian jazz classic The Girl from Ipanema and took home two Grammy Awards.
