Good looks have never interfered with Chris Cornell's career, but it was his musical work with Soundgarden that drew most the attention, justifiably so. Soundgarden fused punk rock and classic guitar driven heavy metal together with long hair and flannel shirts, basically what would become over the years the grunge genre.
