The Swedish pop duo Roxette was based on the image, lineup composition and looks of the British New Wave duo the Eurythmics, though are critically inferior to their predecessors. Roxette claim influences by Blondie and the Beatles, but are much closer in sound to Wham and in inspiration to the Eurythmics.
