The Best of Both Worlds was a 2002 collaborated effort by R. Kelly, the #1 R&B singer of the day, and Jay-Z, the master of the east coast hip hop industry. It debuted at #2 in spite of allegations that surfaced at the time of R. Kelly's sexual videos recorded at home with a 14 year old girl. Like the album shows and later chart success as well, R. Kelly overcame the allegations at least in the public theater.
