About Portishead
Trip hop, which during the 90s enjoyed tremendous success, has brought us such names as Tricky, Massive Attack and Portishead. The latter, named after a town 12 miles west of trip-hop capital Bristol, has led the genre to the greatest success, namely across the ocean in the US. Lo-fi sounding and jazzy sampling, Portishead still reject any classification.
