The anachronistic, ten-years-later sound of Nickelback is not only the result of an outdated post grunge sound, but also by the band choosing to release songs that were written long ago. Such are the tracks off Nickelback's third album, Silver Side Up, that were written before The state, their 2000 album was recorded.
