About Milt Jackson
Detroit-born Milt Jackson was perhaps the greatest vibraphonist in American jazz from the day he emerged on the Dizzie Gillespie sextet playing hard bop and throughout several decades of leading groups and playing with some of the most important jazz figures of the day. In fact, the expressive and earthy Milt Jackson could be counted among this respected list, alongside Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk and others.
