About Madness
Though generally labeled a ska revival band, Madness have developed a more complex sound with later recordings. Since One Step Beyond, their debut album (and a #2 success on the UK chart), Madness have added elements of Motown, soul, and British pop. Their sound, however, and overall image remained entirely British as has their influence on the British music scene by and large.
