Jethro Tull members would change the band name often as they had difficulty receiving repeat bookings around London. Only when they settled and their reputation improved, the name Jethro Tull was picked, named after an 18th century agriculturist who invented the seed drill. Performing under this name was their breakthrough, reaching the ear of a club manager who liked what he heard.
