About Ian Dury
A bad leg due to childhood polio and a cockney accent due to, well, his cockney genes, Ian Dury was a star in England in the late 70s, but has never succeeded outside of England really. While singles such as Me With Your Rhythm Stick, Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll and Reasons to Be Cheerful (Part 3) all became Top 10 hits in the UK, an attempt that was critically successful to enter the US flopped in sales and dropped Ian Dury from his contract with American label Arista.
