About Happy Mondays
Manchester saw amazing years of creativity in the latter half of the 80s, a period the music of which is often referred to as the Madchester rave scene. The Happy Mondays, one of the most important bands active at that time, mixed indie rock with house and techno rhythms. On top of that, the Happy Mondays music was remixed by DJs active in the scene, and along with the growing popularity of the Ecstasy pills, became the foundation for many a rave party.
