Their youthful looks, good natured and sweet music were the key to their success in 1997 and the roots of their falling out of favor a few years later. MMMBop was unavoidable at the time Hanson released it, but as the band refused to mature, not only in their looks but also musically, the critical response followed and the Hanson brothers disappeared as fast as they exploded onto the scene.
