The German band Gregorian records its Gregorian influenced music in an interesting style, designed by bandleader Frank Peterson. The 12 vocalist who sing the chants record their parts with dimmed lights, trying to imitate a church atmosphere and avoid a technical feel of a studio. Peterson has added that when recording, the studio is lit by candles, as close as they can make it feel to a Gregorian church.
