Though flamenco purists may oppose the Gypsy Kings style, which brings the traditional music style to the international mainstream market, the band is undoubtedly successful in what it does and has enjoyed their good fortune continuing bringing their kind of Rumba Flamenca to the mass audiences. One example of this is their flamenco influenced cover version of Hotel California, which unsurprisingly was a great international hit.
