About Cocteau Twins
The alternative rock scene in Scotland is largely influenced and dominated by Cocteau Twins, at least this was the case in the years the band was active in, 1982-1997. Coming out with their debut in 1982, following the success of such bands as Joy Division and Siouxsie & The Banshees, the Cocteau Twins quickly made a name for themselves, or rather a sound for themselves, as a dreamy sounding and yet intense pop-rock band.
