Carpenters is a highly-acclaimed pop and soft rock band that originally comes from New Haven, Connecticut. The Carpenters' version of "We've Only Just Begun" (written by Paul Williams and Roger Nichols) reached number 2 on the Hot 100 and spent 7 weeks at number 1 Adult Contemporary, to become the duo's second major hit in the fall of 1970, and is considered by Richard Carpenter as the group's signature song.
