About Calexico
Calexico began as a Tucson collective of musicians, who set out to explore their Southwestern culture. Playing as a consortium, Calexico catered to a variety of dufferent musical styles, Ennio Morricone's spaghetti Westerns as well as Portuguese fado, Afro-Peruvian music, and '50s and '60s jazz, country, and surf music all factored into the music.
