Jamaican reggae singer Buju Banton is as famous for his dancehall reggae music of the 90s as he is for the controversies that seem to follow him around. One such controversy that caught up with Buju Banton was the 1992 release of the song Boom Bye Bye which calls for violence against homosexuals. As a matter of fact the song was taken out of context, having been written four years before and discussing a particular man-boy rape case that took place in Kingston.
