About Barry Manilow
Although Barry Manilow is one of the most successful adult contemporary performers ever in terms of sales, this success has not translated itself into respect, neither by fans not by critics. Although the tendency that Barry Manilow has for bombast, swelling choruses and lush arrangements can seem a little kitschy, he never thought of himself as anything but an all around performer, and his music and live shows were accordingly theatrical.
