When house music emerged in the early nineties, so did sub-genres such as French house. Responsible for this special geographical classification were mainly two groups, the St. Germain project and Air. The latter, composed of two musicians, hit the nail on its head with dance music that was also jazz influenced, electronic beats that were mellow and relaxed. Moon Safari and The Virgin Suicides soundtrack set the tone for a successful and widely influential career.
