Bryan Scott (vocals and guitar) and Patrick Kennison (guitar) in San Antonio, TX formed the Union Underground. They recruited John Moyer (bass) and Josh Memelo (drums) to record the group's first LP Education in Rebellion, which was issued in 2000.
