Such musicians as Jo Walston (vocals) and Bill Anderson (guitar) founded the Meat Purveyors in Austin, Texas in the late 90's. In 1998 the group recorded and released its first full-length album entitled Sweet in the Pants. The record became very popular and commercially successful; the LP attracted much attention to the Meat Purveyors.
