Tantric's founders bassist Jesse Vest, guitarist Todd Whitener, drummer Matt Taul first formed the Days of the New band in 1998. They issued such singles as "Touch, Peel and Stand" and "Solitude." In the early 2000's the trio signed the contract with the Maverick label under the title Tantric. They recruited singer Hugo Ferreira to record their eponymous album.
