The southern rock group Lynyrd Skynyrd fused blues, rock and a rebellious image to record five albums, until a tragic airplane crash killed the original band members in 1977. Although the band continued recording, with a different lineup, after the plane crash, their peak years were without a doubt 1973-1977. From Free Bird to Sweet Home Alabama, tours with the Rolling Stones and several albums released during this period by Lynyrd Skynyrd, they established themselves as a top rock band.
