Rap and metal met in Faith No More's music in the late 80s, then made its presence a fact in the alternative music scene. The San Francisco band introduced a new style, has practically created a new genre, with their 1987 Introduce Yourself album. When Mike Patton joined Faith No More a year later, the band would also have a highly talented vocalist to add even more funk into the mix and carry the band beyond a cult following and on to MTV.
