Virgin UK to Release the HTC Wildfire in Q3

Virgin UK has announced that it will be offering the new HTC Wildfire in the fall of 2010. The HTC Wildfire is powered by Android 2.1 and will incorporate a QVGA touchscreen display, which is a rarity amongst Android devices. The Wildfire comes with GPS, HSDPA, a 5MP camera and many more features that have made HTC the best Smartphone manufacturer in the world, arguably. Virgin UK has yet to officially disclose the price of the Wildfire, but the blogosphere has it priced at 250 Euros. The price is affordable overall, but may be considered expensive by some when compared to other mobile devices with similar features. It is unclear regarding the availability the device via other carriers in the UK, but there are enough devices with similar design and specifications to

Sprint Buys Virgin Mobile USA

Yesterday, Sprint announced that it had acquired Virgin Mobile USA. Virgin Mobile, a specialist in providing prepaid mobile service, was facing some financial distress recently, thus paving the way for parent company Virgin Group to offload the troubled asset to Sprint Nextel. Sprint, owner of the increasingly popular Boost Mobile, will now see its market share increase significantly, but still not within reach of Verizon and AT&T, the two largest carriers in the United States. Sprint executives explained that the purchase of Virgin Mobile is an attempt to infiltrate the prepaid market segment of the mobile industry. Prepaid mobile phones have seen a dramatic increase in sales since the downturn of the global economy. Virgin Group will still retain ownership of its

Samsung and Virgin Release the Mantra

The Mantra also incorporates a speakerphone and the little used voice dialing feature. Virgin is offering the Mantra for the low the price of $60, including free shipping and activation. While tech weenies will probably scorn the notion of purchasing the Mantra, they cannot deny the fact that budget phones are almost always better bang for your buck devices than high end,

The New Virgin Mobile "Cyclops" Phone

This new phone from Virgin Mobile has one of the most unique front designs I have ever seen and for that reason alone is known as “The Cyclops.”
Although this phone may be a bit different from most other phones out there as far as the design is concerned, the $100 cell that will be available tomorrow, November 2nd, 2006, has only a 1 mega pixel camera and the only thing that makes this phone worth wile is that it allows users to match certain ringtones with people in a service known as TXT Tones so that when a person texts you, that specific ring tone will play and you can set different ring tones for different friends. This service is not free and you have to pay 41.50 for each TXT Tone that you set.
Bottom Line: This is an expensive phone with a
