A laughable and pathetic movement is growing in the mobile industry. Journalists and developers are calling for a more transparent App Store. While this is a wet dream for us all, the mere thought that the clandestine Apple would even consider such a move is beyond imaginable. This movement was started in part after the cartoon debacle involving a Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist named Mark Fiore. Apparently, his cartoon application was rejected for questionable humor towards political figures. A bunch of angry cartoonists attacked Apple with an angry letter. “The Association of American Editorial Cartoonists calls on Apple to immediately stop rejecting apps because they ‘ridicule public figures’ and are deemed ‘objectionable,” the association wrote. “Now is the time for Apple to welcome a vibrant and diverse world of news and opinion with open arms.” Apple threw them a bone and accepted Fiore’s application. However, let’s not be gullible and believe that Apple is changing their ideology regarding transparency.
