The release of the iPad is drawing near and with it, more and more speculation and rumor. Some well known video game publishers have started to reveal titles they plan on releasing for the iPad soon after its launch. Screenshots have been made available and are not very impressive to say the least. While it is difficult to judge a book by its cover, and a screenshot is not ideal when judging a video game of any kind, it does give you a decent first impression about the kind of game that is going to be released. From what I have seen, there are plenty of puzzle and platform games that are sure to dishearten the average gamer. Even though most of us were smart enough to realize that the iPad is not going to be a gaming Mecca, Apple’s hype has perhaps fooled us slightly into believing that the iPad was going to deliver more than it actually could. I wonder how long before we have an iPad or similar device that can run a game like Assassins Creed II properly?
