In a desperate attempt to avoid corporate death, Palm is whoring themselves out to the highest bidder. Word out of America has the Pre and Pixi handsets heading to AT&T and from across the pond, it appears that British carrier O2 will also be offering the devices. All this comes as Palm has officially acknowledged that they are fast approaching financial ruin and that any buyout offers made will be considered. The Pre and Pixi on their own are actually sound pieces of technology, but a crowded market and superior alternatives at comparable prices have doomed both devices and perhaps Palm as well. The Pre and Pixi phones will be available from AT&T for $150 and $50 respectively after mail-in rebate. Palm was once a leader in wireless technology, but is in danger of becoming extinct due to poor market adaptability and lack of ingenuity cornering their products. Here’s wishing Palm all the best during these troubled times.
