Soon those of you who ride bicycles can use Mobile Google Maps to plan your routes through the village green. (Or the great concrete sprawls of the United States.) There is no word on an exact date of release, but we are hopeful that it will be soon. (Well, people who ride bicycles are hopeful. I personally don’t really care.) In any case, here is some info from Google’s page:
• Dark green indicates a dedicated bike-only trail;
• Light green indicates a dedicated bike lane along a road;
• Dotted green indicates roads without bike lanes but are more appropriate for biking, based on factors such as terrain, traffic, and intersections.
I hunted for some instructions regarding packing a picnic basket for a bicycle trip, but was unable to find anything. I wonder if there is an application for bus systems. Something like Google Bus could be a great app. Then again, the app would just need to have the words ‘late’ written in bold at any given time for the app to be accurate.
