Aside from being the most significant telecommunications device to be released in the last few years, the iPhone is also proving to be a life saver… literally. An interesting story has penetrated mainstream news and the blogosphere, which reports that a documentary director's life was saved due to a medical application on his iPhone after he was buried during the Haiti disaster. The director, Dan Woolley, used an app called Jive Media Pocket First Aid and CPR in order to treat the injuries he was suffering. Woolley claimed that he used everything from a sock to his shirt in order to patch his injuries until help arrived. Without the instructions and guidance of the app, he may have very well succumbed to his injuries. Aside from being overjoyed at being alive, we are positive that Woolley’s movie will now become far more interesting as he shares his personal experiences during the earthquake with the audience.
