I am not a huge fan of corporate America, but articles, like the one I saw recently at PC World; make my head spin with anger. In a nutshell, the article discussed how Apple blocks third parties from using their software, citing the example of how the Pre cannot sync with iTunes in order to upload audio. The author, who I must commend for having a pleasant writing style, argued that Apple should be more flexible with other companies and more cooperative in order to ensure a better user experience. I am going to say this one more time for anyone who doesn’t understand: the creator of anything does not owe others anything. It cannot be described in more layman terms than that. Apple created iTunes for example and they do not have to let others play with it. Now, that may be detrimental to Apple, but it is their prerogative.
