Could a new Final Fantasy game be headed for the iPhone in 2010? Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi reveals that his studio, Mistwalker, is planning on creating a new Final Fantasy installment for the iPhone. For those of you who are not familiar with Final Fantasy, it is probably the most popular RPG series ever made for the console. With gorgeous graphics and enthralling game play, Final Fantasy has become the barometer by which other video games are judged. We are crossing our fingers that this so called iPhone project is not a reincarnation of a console game, but rather a unique creation that is designed for the iPhone only. The iPhone’s unique advantages and disadvantages indicate that specialization, rather than recreation is recommended. Nevertheless, we trust Hironobu Sakaguchi with our gaming lives and have complete faith that he will churn out a masterpiece of unequaled proportions. I can hardly wait to see what he comes out with.
