Ari Emanuel, a Hollywood super agent, has sued the app developer of the iPhone app Super Agent. Emanuel’s reasoning behind the lawsuit is the resemblance between him and the character portrayed in the Super Agent application. Apple has removed the app from the App Store until this mess is cleared up. The developer of the app has claimed that the resemblance is purely a coincidence. In all likely hood, the misguided app developer copied the Ari Gold character from HBO’s hit comedy Entourage. However, it is widely believed that HBO sought out Ari Emanuel’s blessing before writing the character of Ari Gold into the show. As it stands right now, don’t be surprised if you never see the Super Agent app again in the App Store. Apple is making a strong move towards offering more Hollywood content on its devices and pissing off one of the most dominate figures in all of Hollywood would not be a good move. This app will disappear quietly into oblivion.
