Predictions in the mobile industry have become somewhat of a national pastime in the United Sates, with everyone, their mother, and their dog Chuckles, making predictions about 2010. Most of these predictions are thrown about casually like a stripper and her crotch less panties. This time, the guilty party is a mobile analytics firm called Flurry. Flurry CEO Simon Khalaf boldly predicts that the Android Market will boast about 150,000 applications by the end of next year, while the Apo Store will offer about twice that amount. If we look at percentages, this predication indicates a massive increase in the amount of Android application offered when compared to Apple. Of course, these predictions are always suspect at the best of times. Too often have me seen bold declarations that have never come into fruition. There were some who believed that Symbian would become that leading mobile operating system by 2010. What are the chances of that prediction coming true?
