The man who has blessed us, our cursed us, with Twitter has just unveiled his newest invention that he hopes will change the way we conduct business on our mobile phones. Jack Dorsey, founder and current chairmen of Twitter, has launched a new startup technology called Square. Square allows mobile users, currently only for the iPhone, to send payments to other mobile users without requiring a credit card merchant. Dorsey called the service and company Square because of the small plastic device that needs to be attached to the iPhone in order for the service to work. Dorsey plans on charging one dollar for the application that must be download to use the service. However, the possibility exists that the actually square device that needs to be attached to the iPhone will be given away for free. Apparently, it is so cheap to create, that Square can afford not to take payment for it. As an inventor, Jack Dorsey is a genius, but that man just doesn’t want to make money.
