Usually, I am inclined to bash Apple for allowing useless and insulting apps that grace the virtual shelves of its App Store. However, this time I am forced to bash the actual developer for being so stupid as to actually believe that Apple would somehow approve this app. The app in question is called iDroid and it was developed by Swaw Apps, creators of the app Beer Pong and Spin the Bottle – both of which have drastically improved our miserable lives in so many countless ways. What were the Swaw folk thinking? iDroid places a red Motorola Droid like glow on the downloader’s iPhone and provides a link for further information regarding the Droid handset. Put aside the merits of approving or disproving this application for one moment. Why would Swaw believe that Apple, known for being the biggest hard asses in the mobile industry, allow an application advertising their biggest competitor? This was a horrendous idea, but what can you expect from the same group of clowns that have created apps like Beer Pong and Spin the Bottle.
