It seems like you can’t walk 10 feet these days without tripping over a new Android phone. This time we see the newly released Samsung Galaxy Spica, or I5700, make its way to the market. The Samsung Galaxy Spica comes with the usual robust, but esthetically lacking Android package. The Spica supports Google mobile services and cohesion with Facebook and MySpace. The Galaxy Spica also supports many other Google type services, including Google Maps and YouTube. An 800 MHz processor and several advanced audio features, most notably DNSe 2.0. The Samsung Galaxy Spica is only available in Europe, so Yanks will have to wait a little bit longer. The question is should they? While this and many other Android phones have the specs, we are still waiting to see if the OS measures up to its full potential. The quality, unfortunately, simply isn’t there. Perhaps it will be one of these days.
