Grand Theft Auto is going Asian with the announcement that the hit Nintendo DS game GTA: Chinatown Wars is heading for the iPhone. You play Wang, a Shanghai street sweeper that has come to America to seek his fortune. Armed with magical chopsticks, stale fortune cookies and poisonous Dim Sum, Wang must take control of the Chinese Underworld or start his own driving school – both guaranteed to cause mayhem and havoc on innocent bystanders. Ok, so I'm joking a bit. Rockstar has not released any information about Chinatown Wars except that there will be some sort of on screen joystick for iPhone users. The game is scheduled for release in the fall for the iPhone and iTouch, as well as the PSP in October. GTA is one of the most addictive video game franchises ever created and would probably be a nice fit on the iPhone. Of course, it is also one of the most stereotypical and racist games on the market so don’t be too surprised if there is more than a smidge of Asian bashing throughout the game.
