Most of you are aware that Apple recently rejected the Google app called Google Voice from gracing its app store. Most of you may have shrugged off this event to just another example of the fascist and tyrannical ideology of Apple. However, the proverbial horse crap has now hit the proverbial fan. The FCC, an organization known for having just as much fascism and tyranny as Apple, has now stepped in and demanded that Apple explain why Google Voice was rejected. In addition, Apple will also have to explain to the FCC why other similar apps were removed shortly after Google Voice was denied entry. The FCC has sent Apple a list of question and has stated that it expects an answer no later than August 21. Interestingly enough, the FCC doesn’t need to wait for an Apple response. I would be happy to answer on behalf of Apple, as all the questions presented by the FCC are pretty straightforward.
I’m ready FCC, so start asking questions:
Q: Did Apple reject the Google Voice application for iPhone and remove related third-party applications from its App Store?
A: Um… yes. This is public knowledge you morons!
Q: Did Apple act alone, or in consultation with AT&T, in deciding to reject the Google Voice application and related applications?
A: Of course Apple talked to AT&T. The two companies have been in bed together, humping like newly weds, for several years now. Apple doesn’t fart without AT&T knowing about it.
Q: Does AT&T have any role in the approval of iPhone applications?
A: You bet your government ass they do! It wouldn’t shock me if there was an AT&T employee on the app review team, signing off on all new apps.
Q: What are the differences between the Google Voice iPhone app and any VoIP apps that Apple has approved?
A: Only one belongs to a mega corp. like Google. Steve Jobs needs to make sure that he becomes king of the world. Kind of hard to do if someone is beating you at your own game.
Q: What other applications have been rejected for use on the iPhone and for what reasons?
A: Whatever reason Apple wants. Apple is king of the world and doesn’t owe mere mortals any explanation for its actions.
Q: What are the standards for considering and approving iPhone applications?
A: See previous question.
