“Specially developed to give all the entertainment you could ever consume, and the finest audio-visual experience around. It’s the future of mobile entertainment in the palm of your hand,” claims mobile retailer Carphone Warehouse about the Sony Ericsson Saito, which it plans to begin carrying in October of this year. On paper, the Sony Ericsson Saito is a mobile entertainment marvel, with an incredible 12.1 megapixel camera, 3.5 inch display Wi-Fi and Turbo 3G. (As if it’s any faster.) Wonderful specs have not usually indicated a successful handset for Sony Ericsson. With the mobile manufacturer on the brink of bankruptcy and with Sony threatening to cut it losses and cease to fund SE, the Saito will certainly be placed under the microscope as perhaps Sony Ericsson’s saving grace. I personally can’t get over the 12.1 megapixel camera. That is certainly better than most stand alone cameras I have seen or used, though I must also confess that I am not a camera expert. We will keep an eye on Saito’s progress.
