Minus the iPhone and BlackBerry, smartphones everywhere will support Flash 10 come October 2009. The list of operating systems that will enjoy Flash 10 include Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile and Palm WebOS. I am a little disappointed with RIM’s absence from this list, but there is plenty of time until October and I don’t see any reason why BlackBerry won’t join this coveted list soon enough. Apple of course, is addicted to abnormality; so it is no surprise that the iPhone is the odd dog yet again. While it remains to be seen if this year’s smartphones will be able to handle the system resource requirements that Flash 10 will bring, but with increased CPU power in this generation of smartphones, it looks as if the merger between mobile phones and portable computers is now more apparent than ever. Looks like it may be time to update my not too old Nokia E63.
