AT&T is raising the ante in the prepaid cell phone wars across North America. The carrier who brought you the iPhone is now ready to break ground in a new service that will giveAT&T customers the option of using a $3 day unlimited calling service. Customers will pay three dollars and receiving unlimited minutes for 24 hours. In addition, AT&T is offering roaming and free long distance across all of North America in order to perhaps sweeten the unlimited plan. Like all things that sound great in life, there is a catch here that can not be overlooked. AT&T will charge customers the $3 once they receive or make a call. The latter is not a problem because the decision making remains in the hands of the customer, but the former is an issue. What happens if you receive an unwanted call from a telemarketer or an annoying aunt? Aside from this little big disadvantage, daily unlimited calling for $3 seems like a good idea. That is of course, providing we know all there is to know about this new service which was released on May 11th.
