The joint venture established by Sony Ericsson in 2001 by the Japanese electronics company Sony and the Swedish telecommunications company Ericsson seems to be plagued by a mobile phone device that does not work the C905. This is a new setback for the fifth largest mobile manufacturer in the world, placed after Nokia, LG, Motorola and Samsung in production and sales. The Sony Ericsson C905, the latest flagship device is suffering high levels of returns (30%) due to software freezing and speaker faults on the 8.0 megapixel camera phone. This follows last years mass recall of other Sony Ericsson key products such as the K850i, C902 and the W910i (Due to crashing and freezing). Sony Ericsson had to undergo heavy costs of compensation for providers following the large amount of customer returns. There have been high hopes that the W995 and Idou concept phone will provide great performance, although it seems that may not be the case if Sony Ericsson continue to disappoint. There needs to be change in development and an improvement in the quality of components and testing in order for these technical difficulties to be worked out. The consumer wants a device that works and NOT a Phony Ericsson.
