It appears that the public has fully embraced the possibility that the G1 may be as good, if not better, than the iPhone. The T-Mobile pre-sale of their new flagship handset has encountered sterling results and some experts believe that the iPhone may have a real battle on its hands. The G1 has already per-sold over 1.5 million unites and T-Mobile is gearing up for another run that may very well see the most anticipated cell phone of the year eclipse the 2 million mark before the first unit hits shelves. Of course, the tremendous pre-sale results have more to do with the unbeatable Google marketing machine rather than the actual phone itself, but here’s hoping that the G1 lives up to the hype. Will the iPhone be able to compete? Probably, but every Apple mistake (and there have been a few) from now on will have dire ramifications. Apple had better mobilize its troops and get in the trenches now, before Google eradicates its fruity behind.
