The British mobile cell phone NARC squad recently raided 42 establishments in West Sussex County. This crack British elite Special Forces unit bashed some heads and broke some fingers in an attempt to put a halt to unfair business practices being incorporated by some vendors. Ok, so maybe no bones were broken and maybe the unit conducting the raid was actually a bunch of bow tie wearing and pocket protector wielding Trading Standards investigators. Nevertheless, this does not mean that the investigators and the British government in general shouldn’t be applauded for protecting consumer rights. Apparently, the questionable merchants were employing bullish and tyrannical business practices like ‘No Refunds’ and other caveat emptor tactics that haven’t been seen in the Western world since the 70’s. It should be noted that all 42 establishment were third party and not directly affiliated with larger chain stores or nation wide carriers. Now all we need is for Trading Standards to raid Vodafone. Then this writer will truly be a happy camper.
