For those of you have suspected that our friends in the land of the rising sun have too much time on their hands, then maybe this is finally the proof you need. While we could excuse phone teddy bears, iPhones made out of diamonds and cell phones that double as vibrators, this latest concoction will raise a few eye brows. A Japanese company called Dwango is attempting to break the Guinness Book of World Records with the longest ringtone ever made. Dwango boasts that their ringtone is over 61 minutes long. The actual content that will be played is unknown, but it will be interesting to see what they come up with. To be honest, I always thought that the Japanese were a little more technologically inclined than this. How hard could it be to make a 61 minute ringtone? I guess we shouldn’t judge all of Japan based on the silliness of one company, but for some reason, all of these cute and worthless inventions seem to come from the land of Sumo and Samurai.
