With the iPhone turning into a wonder phone of sorts, it was only a matter of time before comic books hit the mobile screen of everybody’s favorite mobile device. A company called iVerse has developed a nifty little tool that works as a comic book reader on the iPhone. Users will read the comic book square by square, with only one square appearing on the phone at any given time. How will this work with a large, one page spread is a question of some concern, but the idea seems pretty cool for the most part. Issues will be priced at about $0.99 an issue for professional comic books and iVerse promises to give aspiring amateur comic book creators the platform required to show case their skills by allowing them to upload their own comics free of charge. Now if only Spider Jerusalem could start writing for a national newspaper. Then we would really be kicking things into high gear.
