Another rogue app has been yanked by the Apple App Store due to alleged business misconduct. However, unlike some of the get rich schemes we have witnessed since the inception of the App Store, this case is not so black and white. The Tetris Company, makers of the once beloved game by children and adults everywhere, has forced college student Noah Witherspoon to pull his Tetris clone called Tris off of the App Store. Apple informed Witherspoon that his app has been tagged as copyright infringement and that should Tetris unleash the wrath of angry lawyers at him, Apple won’t be around to help. While Witherspoon has admitted that he would likely lose any legal proceedings to Tetris because of financial disadvantages, he does plan to take up the fight again one day. Sometime in the future, we may very well see a battle between Tetris and Witherspoon over who has the right to move shapes around a screen. I think it's time to move on.
