Just when you thought Google couldn’t get any more greedy, the implementation of advertisements on the mobile version of YouTube shows that the internet guru’s gluttony is enormous. Users in Japan and the United States have reported that banners and other such commercial elements have already started to appear. While world wide growth of mobile YouTube has been somewhat impeded by technical difficulties, it appears that Google has ironed out some of the kinks, with advertisements being the first step in a complete mobile browsing monopoly. Plans include an iPhone version of mobile YouTube and a more in depth viewing experience with higher quality video and more functionality for user channels. Google’s reign of terror in the cyber world is the perfect launching platform for Google’s new lordship of mobile internet content. It’s just a matter of time before Google makes a move that smells of fascism and then the mobile world is really going to hell.
